Planning to Build Trade terms
Version 2026-10-13
These terms cover your use of Planning to Build Trade, including calculators, your jobs, your rates and the quotes you send to your customers. Planning to Build runs the service. "We" and "us" means Planning to Build. "You" means the person or business with the account.
1. Business use only
You use the service for your trade or business, not as a homeowner pricing your own work. By agreeing, you confirm that.
2. It's free while we build it
There is no charge for the service while we are building it. If we decide to charge, we will email you the price at least 30 days before any charge starts. Nothing is charged unless you agree to it. You can stop using the service at any time.
3. The price is yours
The service helps you work out materials and a price. You decide the price you give your customer. Check every quote before you send it, including quantities, rates, materials and anything the job needs that the questions did not ask about. Your quotes and the decisions you make with them are your responsibility, not ours.
4. What you put in decides what comes out
Quantities and prices are worked out from the answers and figures you enter. If an answer is wrong, or something about the job is left out, the materials list and the price will be wrong too. We do not visit the site or check what you enter.
5. Typical figures are a starting point
Some figures start at typical values, such as material prices and extras like skip hire. They are a starting point, not a quote from a merchant, and they may not match your area, your supplier or today's prices. Change any figure that does not match yours. If you use a typical figure without checking it, that is your choice and your risk.
6. Your customer deals with you, not us
A quote you send is your document and your offer to your customer. We are not part of any agreement between you and your customer, including any warranty or validity period printed on the quote. Your customer cannot rely on us for the quote, and we owe them no duty for it. If your customer, or anyone else, makes a claim against us about a quote you sent or work you did, you will pay our reasonable costs of dealing with it. Only you and we can enforce these terms.
7. Your customers' details
When you add a customer's name, address or other details, you confirm you have the right to do so. You decide what is added and why. We store and use those details only to run the service for you.
8. Your information
What you enter stays yours. You allow us to store and use it only to run the service for you. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your own details.
9. Using the service properly
Do not misuse the service, try to get into other people's accounts or data, copy the calculator in bulk, or interfere with how it works. If you do, we may suspend or close your account.
10. Availability and changes
The service is new and we are still building it. It is provided as it is. We do not promise the service is free of mistakes, or that its figures, quantities or materials lists are right for your job. It may be unavailable at times, and we may change or stop any part of it. If we plan to stop the service, we will try to email you first.
11. Our liability to you
We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of work or contracts, loss of business or goodwill, or any indirect or knock-on loss, however it arises, including our own negligence or a mistake in the service.
We are not liable for lost or damaged data. Keep your own copy of any quote you send.
Apart from that, our total liability to you for anything to do with the service is limited to the greater of £100 or what you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim.
The service is free and you set every figure, which is why these limits apply.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
12. Ours and yours
The service, the calculator and the way it works belong to us. Your jobs, rates, customers and quotes belong to you.
13. Closing your account
You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing admin@planningtobuild.co.uk. We will delete your account and the jobs, customers and rates in it, except anything we must keep by law.
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will show you the new version and ask you to agree before you carry on using the service. Each version is dated.
15. If part of these terms does not hold
If a court decides any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
16. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
